أكد المبعوث الصيني الخاص لشؤون المناخ ليو تشن مين أن اضطرابات إمدادات النفط والغاز الناجمة عن الحرب الأمريكية ضد إيران يجب أن تدفع الدول إلى تسريع التحول نحو مصادر الطاقة المتجددة وتعزيز أمنها على المدى الطويل.

وأوضح ليو خلال جلسة نقاشية على هامش المنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي في مدينة داليان الصينية، أن بعض الدول لجأت إلى زيادة الاعتماد على الفحم لمواجهة نقص إمدادات الطاقة، لكنه اعتبر أن هذا الحل مؤقت ولا يوفر استقرارًا طويل الأجل لأسواق الطاقة.

وأضاف أن الدول بحاجة إلى الإسراع في تنفيذ خطط التحول نحو مصادر الطاقة المتجددة لضمان استدامة الإمدادات وتقليل تعرضها للصدمات الجيوسياسية وتقلبات أسواق الوقود الأحفوري.

وأشار المسؤول الصيني إلى أن تجربة بلاده تعد نموذجًا يمكن الاستفادة منه، حيث إن الصين لديها أكبر المشروعات للطاقة الشمسية والرياح.

The Chinese special envoy for climate affairs, Liu Chenmin, emphasized that the disruptions in oil and gas supplies caused by the U.S. war against Iran should prompt countries to accelerate the transition to renewable energy sources and enhance their long-term security.

Liu explained during a discussion session on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Dalian, China, that some countries have resorted to increasing their reliance on coal to cope with energy supply shortages, but he considered this solution temporary and not providing long-term stability for energy markets.

He added that countries need to expedite the implementation of plans to transition to renewable energy sources to ensure supply sustainability and reduce their exposure to geopolitical shocks and fluctuations in fossil fuel markets.

The Chinese official pointed out that his country's experience serves as a model that can be leveraged, as China has the largest solar and wind energy projects.
